Is the trend of the last several years that Australia Day is being put back in it’s cringe box?

Current Australian patriotism, which is 100% American style nationalism, dropped on the nature strip in a steaming coil in the 80s. Teary flagwaving shamefulness, up until then, was for just a few hardcore racists. You would see something happening outside the RSL and you would have a vague idea what they were doing and you very much did not want in. Australia Day had all the sexiness of whatever the freaks at Hillsong are up to.

Flag wavers are not even having a good time. It's what you would call a negative good time. Every year it comes around and we are presented with the spectacle of the most stock standard, off the shelf, fucknecked, shitfooted passport holders celebrating something that would still be fucked even if it was true.

Flag waving vibes have the emotional substance of a sad evening’s trolling while your wife goes to bed early, having long forgotten what it is to be married to a sexual being. You wave the flag because it gives lots of people the shits. Your life sucks.

Tragically, I've been here my whole life. l don't understand the stories Australians tell themselves about this country. I say “they”, it’s “we” and we should kill ourselves. I’m joking. Like Jonestown. Jokestown guys.

Fuck, Dude

I am listening to Morbid Angel’s Altars of Madness.  The other week the doctors told me I have diabetes, which is awesome, because I thought I had cancer. And diabetes just means I have to ease up on sugar and sugar’s for kids anyway. And you might think I’m being flippant or glib or blase, or immature, or in denial, but diabetes? Is that all?
