Colbert, Oliver, all these TV champs are very unimpressive. They're schtick is confected outrage as light as fairy floss. Real issues scare them.

Remember when Colbert and John Stewart put on an ironic Rally for Good Manners or whatever? Maybe they should have been chased off the street.

That rally was a load of Daily Show viewers who were prone to saying shit like John Stewart should be president.

I wonder how many of these listless layabouts who laughed at Dubya for 8 years are now thrilled he's Michelle Obama's little buddy. I guess all.

I used to laugh at the Daily Show, but it reached a point (Occupy) where it penetrated my skull that it was a giant wank.

A lot of political comedy is chuckling bullshit by assholes who consider it their job to cheer up people who actually aren't struggling at all.

It exists so the political class can keep going, sustained by giggles and insider knowledge that's it all a big joke and we should-do-better-lol.

Political comedy is mostly quite educated, well-read fuckwits who in their warped middle class minds see for themselves a role as defenders, like cops.

They're out there, bravely saying things they could easily get away with saying at a family Xmas gathering.

No comic who is actually political is in any way involved in any of those shows, unless it's in the writers room being studiously ignored.

So for Colbert to be talking like the anti-antifa is to be expected. He's a normal, decent human being whose politics are Career and just maybe Family.
